My story with R40 did not begin as a business idea, it began when I moved from NSW to the Sunshine Coast in 2019. With a new school, a new environment, and new people, I struggled hard at first. The only place where I felt grounded was in the gym and on the rugby field. I poured everything I had into training, and showing up day after day built my discipline rep by rep. That routine carried me through one of the hardest transitions of my life and taught me something I still live by: when everything feels unstable, discipline gives you something solid to stand on.

After school, I took that same mindset into work and footy. I was not perfect, days were missed, momentum was lost, and my attitude slipped at times, but I always returned to my core values: stay true to yourself, be good for your word, and honesty. Across 2023 and 2024, I pushed through a run of injuries including neck issues, nerve pain, a surgery on my finger, and a broken hand. Trying to return too early each time taught me a difficult truth. You can work hard forever, but if you are working in the wrong direction, it will not take you where you want to go.

That truth became impossible to ignore. I was giving everything to a path that did not feel aligned anymore. My body was breaking down, my motivation was dropping, and deep down I knew I was not moving toward the life I actually wanted. It was not an easy realisation, but it was an honest one, and that is what led me to leave the trade. Not because I quit, but because I finally understood that hard work only matters when it is pointed at something meaningful.

Soon after, I started working in the gym, and something clicked immediately. I loved learning names, greeting people, and being a positive part of someone’s day. I realised very quickly that this was what I wanted to build my life around. I am not perfect, but I am committed to discipline, to honesty, and to doing the hard thing even when I do not feel like it. That is the standard I bring to R40, and it is the foundation of the environment we are creating.

BELLA

I began my own fitness journey eight years ago feeling anxious, intimidated, and overwhelmed by the endless, and often conflicting, health information being thrown my way. For years, I bounced between extremes, believing progress required giving 100 percent effort every single day. Instead, that mindset left me burnt out, disconnected, and further from my goals.

Over the years, I have learned that my goals do not come to life because of a few perfect weeks of dieting or training. Real and sustainable progress is not built from perfection, it is built through consistency. From small, stackable habits that feel achievable, and aligned with my everyday life. That shift allowed me to fall in love with the process and build a lifestyle that gave me strength and confidence.

When I began working in the fitness industry almost five years ago, I quickly learnt I was not alone. So many people start their journey feeling scared, out of place, or unsure where to begin. Without the right mindset and support, the whole process can feel unachievable. I wanted to change that. I wanted to empower my community with real health education and help shift the narrative from fitness feeling like a daily chore to it becoming a lifestyle you are genuinely grateful for.

This passion ultimately led me to co create R40 Performance, a space designed to give people access to all pillars of health and wellness, and a community built around the belief that showing up just 1 percent better each day is enough to change your life. Our goal was to build an environment that feels motivating, welcoming, and grounded in growth.

As a personal trainer and nutrition coach, I specialise in integrating health into your unique lifestyle. My coaching approach emphasises balance, consistency, mindset, and building the mental fortitude that elevates not only your fitness journey, but your entire life. This is what we practice and preach at R40.
