My Story.
Five years ago, I was 65–70kg, lanky as hell and desperate to put on size.
Chicken legs. Skinny arms. No matter how hard I felt like I was working, the scale wouldn't move.
I was training hard. I was eating more. I was showing up.
But constantly in the back of my head I was questioning:
Am I eating enough?
Am I actually doing the right thing?
Is this the right program?
Am I recovering properly?
Why isn't the weight moving?
Why am I not getting bigger?
Do I need to train harder, eat more, change exercises, change programs?
It was frustrating because I felt like I was doing everything right, but I wasn't getting the result I was working for.
Over the years, through plenty of mistakes, injuries, setbacks and a lot of learning, things started to click.
There was no secret.
Overtime I learned:
How to PROPERLY TRACK MY TRAINING.
Instead of just training as hard as I could and hoping I was progressing.
HOW TO APPLY PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD TO MY TRAINING.
Instead of just doing the same thing each week and expecting different results.
How to structure my eating habits around my goal.
Instead of just forcing down more food, assuming that eating until I was sick meant I was eating enough to grow.
How to stick to a clear plan long enough to actually see whether it was working.
Instead of constantly second-guessing myself, changing exercises and jumping between programs because I wasn't seeing results fast enough.
How to balance training volume with recovery.
Instead of constantly running myself into the ground.
